Does anybody really have any answers to these? Or is everyone finally giving up on harvesting our countries natural resources?
One big question
that I want to ask is “Do we have the right to possess all our natural
resources located beneath our earth right now?” If all our gold was to be mined
in Papua then why do the Javanese get all the goods? Why don’t we have
skyscrapers in Papua? If the answer is because Java and Papua are in one
country, then what makes it different with other country being the one mining
our oil as well as making profit out of it? We both live on planet earth.
Can you imagine how poor and deprived Java would be
without the supplies from other islands?
We need to make a simple analogy to really get deep into this
worldwide point of view. A state is a group of districts, a country is a group
of states and the world is a group of countries. It is impossible for one state
to provide all the people’s needs from their own resources. Java can’t live
without other Islands and other island can’t live without Java. The
relationship is obviously pretty mutual but the reality doesn’t say so. Java is
much more modern than other island yet nobody can blame the Javanese for this
unevenly spread of wealth in our country. We need each other although
disproportionate wealth spread is one consequence that we have to compensate.
Imbalanced spread
of wealth is everywhere in this world. Europe is much more technologically
advanced than most of Asian countries. As I have mention about Java, countries
in Asia have no right to blame the Europeans. Deals are made and the trade goes
on. I am not trying to accuse our own people here. I am just trying to open our
eyes that if we want to blame capitalism and imperialism then we better clean
our own kitchen first because these troubles are also happening in our country.
How all the President came from Java is just one of many pretty clear indicator
of what’s happening in our country.
